Juanita Marie Hayes-Edward was born on March 5, 1945 and passed away on Wednesday, April 4, 2012. Juanita was a member of First Peck Wesley United Methodist Church. She worked at Flint Goodridge Hospital for 14 years and Touro Hospital for 8 yrs as a Phlebotomist. She also graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1963. Daughter of the late Ethel Juanita and Melvin H. Hayes, Sr. Sister of Sybil N. Hayes-Batiste (Kenneth), Demetrius R. Hayes and the late Melvin H. Hayes, Jr.(the late Ruby). Niece of Emanuel Washington (Carol), Yvonne Hayes and the late Leroy Hayes, Sr., Elleanor and Charles Turner, Sr. Beloved Cousins, Michael and Charles Turner, Jr. Godmother of the late LaShauna Turner. Also survived by nieces and nephews, Tiffany Hayes-French (Gerald), Quincy, Shemyka, Kevin, Sr., Melvin Hayes III, Raven Hayes Colbert (Jerald), Laura McKissy, and a host of great nieces/nephews, cousins, family and friends. A native and resident of New Orleans, LA. Relatives and friends of the family, also Pastors, Officers and Members of First Peck Wesley United Methodist Church are invited to attend the Visitation on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at First Peck Wesley United Methodist Church, 2309 Dryades Street from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. Followed by Funeral Services at 11:00 am. Rev. Dr. Martha Orphe, Pastor Officiating. Interment Providence Memorial Park.
